Bromyard Rifle Club can offer plenty of opportunities to shoot the different aspects of .22 Prone Target Shooting. We have an indoor range at 20 yards with four firing points and an outdoor range allowing shooting at 50metres with 18 firing points and 100 yards with 17 firing points. The outdoor ranges are also used by other local clubs and you can get in touch for further information.

For shooting .22 Prone target rifle then we would advise the following equipment:

  • .22 Single Shot Rimfire Rifle with aperture sights
  • Spotting Scope
  • Rifle Sling
  • Shooting Jacket
  • Shooting glove for the non-trigger hand
  • Floor Mat

We have all the above equipment available for new members to use during their probationary period.

Currently, sixteen members shoot .22 prone rifle, entering short range (indoor, 20 yards) and long range (outdoor, 50m & 100 yards) leagues and other competitions at county, regional and national level. Five of our members shoot in the Herefordshire county team of twenty.

Through the year we host various open competitions which are attended by shooters from local clubs and from further afield.

Long range competitions have various formats, such as:-

  • English Match: 60 Shots at 50m

  • Dewar Course: 20 shots at 50m and 20 shots at 100 yards
